What Ive Got

Right Ive just stuck the last shoulder pad on my Marines (why aren't the shoulder pads attached to the arms? you never see a marine without them so why?!) and this is a list of EXACTLY what I have, WYSIWYG.

1 Librarian with Force Axe and Bolt Pistol (one of the few models that didnt need re-glueing)
1 Chaplain with Crozius and Bolt Pistol
1 Commander with Combi-Melta and Power Axe
1 Apothecary with Bolt Pistol
1 Dark Angels Standard Bearer with Bolt Pistol

1 Sergeant with Bolt Pistol and CCW
1 Marine with Auspex
1 Marine with Flamer
6 Marines with Bolters
1 Half Marine (missing Missile Launcher)

5 Terminators, 1 sergeant with Power Sword, 1 with Heavy Flamer

5 Assault Marines, 1 with Plasma Pistol

13 Space Crusade Minis, 2 Sergeants with BP+CCW, 2 Marines without Guns, 2 Marines with Plasma Guns, 7 with Bolters.

And thats it! Just a few notes:

1. Terminators are such ugly models, you cant change their pose in ANY way (these are 3rd ed ones, dont know if there are newer ones). Also they cost a bundle of points so if I get a bigger army they might be the first to go, depending on how good they are on the tabletop.

2. I currently have 2 squads of marines, seeming as troops are so important must expand on that, esp coz ive only got 19 marines with guns.

3. Assault Marines look so cool, simple as.

4. I have 3 HQ units, an apothecary and a Standard for an army I will no longer use. This means I shouldnt have to buy another HQ unit for a while (unless they have jump packs)

5. I have no tanks, dreadnoughts or heavy weapons. I must rectify this as soon as possible.

6. I might get the Assault on Black Reach box set. You get a rulebook as well as 10 Marines, a Dreadnought, 5 Terminators, ANOTHER commander and a load of Orks. All for 40 pound (30 when I use www.giftsforgeeks.org.uk) which costs the same amount as a Rulebook on its own! This also means I dont have to repaint my original captain (who has the useless combi-melta)

Im not gonna post for a while as I have exams but no one is reading so who really cares

The beginnings

Right this is my blog of me trying to make a legitimate Space Marine army for Warhammer 40,000, I tried with Lizardmen (bleyden.blogspot.com) but I just sucked too much and also there were just so many models to paint and to have a "legit" force in fantasy you need 2,000+ points and I just didnt have the time, energy or money to do that.

So if I want an army for 40k (seeming as rules have just come out) why not make it with the fewest amount of models possible, in walks in SPACE MARINES!!! I mean 15 points for your basic model, thats worth almost 3 skinks!!

Anyway I was into 40k in 3rd ed and bought some Space Marine stuff (I used to play Dark Angels) but I hardly painted any of it, didnt have any money to buy anymore stuff and didnt really game enough so they had been put in the loft until I heard about 5th Ed. This new edition gave me a new lease of life to get a proper Space Marine army. I knew a new Space Marine codex was also coming out so that means more goodies for me to get.

To start off with I downloaded the Blood Angels codex, you know why? IT WAS FREE!! Thats £12 saved. I was gonna make my chapter "Brothers of Arterius" a Blood Angel successor chapter, thus meaning I could use their rules and if I didn't like them I could always buy the new codex and make them a standard chapter (hence not choosing Blood Angels themselves).

This is the blog of me assembling repainting and buying Space Marines in hopes of making a 1000 point force and maybe even getting to 1500 or something like that, so I can take it to GW and have a good game.

Will post back in a few minutes...
